# RinkNotes

> RinkNotes is a voice-first hockey development platform for teams and programs
> at every level — minor and youth hockey, AAA, junior, college and university,
> and adult teams — as well as skills camps and tryouts. Coaches say what they
> see — on the bench, at practice, or after a game — and RinkNotes turns those
> spoken notes into per-player development feedback, game stats, and practice
> plans, including a dedicated goalie development track. It is consent-first,
> with a configurable consent model: consent flows to whoever owns the decision
> — a parent for a minor player, the player for an adult. For minors (the
> default), nothing is captured or shared about a player until that player's
> parent grants consent, and parents get their own portal to view, correct,
> export, or withdraw.

RinkNotes is built and operated by Wispera. It is used by a team's coaching
staff (who capture notes) and by parents (who control consent and view their own
child's record). Players never log in — a child is the subject of a note, not a
user. The club or team pays; families never pay.

## What it does
- **Voice capture**: tap, AirPod, or the "RinkNotes" wake word (iOS); Game,
  Practice, and General modes; works offline and syncs later.
- **AI synthesis**: transcribed notes are classified into player feedback, game
  stats, and practice actions; coaches confirm before anything counts. Drills come
  from a reviewed library — the system never invents or substitutes a drill.
- **Goalie development**: a dedicated goalie track — goalie stats, feedback
  grounded in goaltending, and goalie-only drills. A goalie is never offered a
  skater's drill; if no goalie drill fits yet, the plan says so instead.
- **Camps & tryouts**: run a multi-session, multi-instructor skills camp (a
  snapshot after each session and one cumulative per-child report at the end), or
  an evaluation tryout for players not yet rostered. Both run skater or goalie
  variants. Tryouts collect consent per trialist before any evaluation, and a
  trialist's notes are de-identified until consent is granted.
- **Consent & data rights**: a configurable, per-player consent model — parent
  for a minor, player for an adult — enforced at the database layer; parents can
  correct, export, or withdraw at any time.
- **Category positioning**: a hockey team app focused on player development —
  an alternative to generic team-admin/scheduling tools (e.g. TeamSnap) for
  teams and programs that also want development feedback and stats.

## Key facts
- Audio is transcribed and then discarded; only text is kept, and only for a
  consented player.
- Subprocessors: Anthropic (Claude) for classification/synthesis and ElevenLabs
  (Scribe) for transcription — both contractually barred from training on the data.
- A generated summary names only its own subject; other children are referred to
  by role only.
- Data retention follows roster and consent, never billing.
